I had a major TV-watching weekend. During the week I had already watched Search Party, which I wanted to like and which has some strong points (plus, Alia Shawkat is so beautiful and it's nice to see a show that recognizes this), but ultimately got too bogged down in "millennials do things like THIS" humor. It

Yeah, I never thought the show appreciated Paris's awesomeness the way it should have, but even at her worst she seemed destined for better things than crafting designer babies for the rich and bored. Hell, as a teenager she was planning to go into cancer research, and in college she was passionate about the college

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Emily is emotionally manipulative and potentially even abusive, veering wildly and erratically between praise and severe criticism, and constantly keeping her entire family on their toes. And she's constitutionally incapable of being honest about her wants and needs -

I really wanted to enjoy this show, and I agree that there's a lot here to applaud. The basic concept is rock-solid, the performances are great, and the show looks fantastic. But in the end I just found it really frustrating, and I think that ends up coming down to how much I disliked all the characters. I've been

It's certainly true that Noah's celebrity status is being left out of the equation (though I wonder how big of a celebrity he ever was - one salacious novel that turns out to tie into a vehicular manslaughter doesn't exactly make you Paris Hilton). I thought that was an odd missing component of last week's episode

Given the horror stories you hear about American prisons, that strikes me as less obviously implausible. Especially since Noah wasn't cooperating with Helen.

I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as "signing over" custody, not in the sense of signing away your parental rights in cases of adoption. Any custody agreement can be renegotiated, and Alison can petition the court for visitation or even shared custody, regardless of what she signed in the past. The court's only

I thought it was well done, as usual for this show, but god, I found both Helen and Alison's behavior annoying. Which, I suppose, is also the usual for this show.

Aside from desperately wanting to know Holt's thoughts on Beyonce's "Lemonade", I now really want to read the fanfic in which a younger Holt teaches a repressed Kevin some new things about himself.

I have to assume that was a deliberate reference. It's only the most famous and oft-quoted Thanksgiving sitcom episode ever.

I haven't watched the most recent season, but am I wrong that Fitzgerald didn't actually have any nude scenes in Masters of Sex? Which I think makes her unique among the show's female cast, regular and recurring.

The second episode of The Affair is online, and I know I could wait until the discussion posts goes up on Monday (it's no longer being reviewed, right?) but god, I just need to vent.

Given the rumors coming out of that production, I think the odds of CBS shelling out for anyone even close to Bassett's level of fame are pretty slim.

Especially since I'm assuming that T'Challa is meant to be younger than Boseman, who could easily pass for early thirties.

Pretty sure he did have insurance (at least I saw someone familiar with the family say so) but it still doesn't cover all medical expenses, because US medical insurance sucks.

If the Berlanti-verse stays true to form, Kara will be utterly horrified by Oliver's vigilantism, while completely ignoring it (and far worse) from James, Barry, Cisco, basically every character on a show not named Arrow.

Hey, Supergirl, remember how Winn's father is a mass murderer who spent most of Winn's childhood in prison? Do you suppose maybe, instead of the most cookie cutter prison joke, you could reference that? Maybe tie in to Winn's profound fear of becoming his father? No? OK then.

It's the Xmas season

God, I hate the Guardian storyline so much. I quit The Flash over this kind of fascist bullshit, and that was before an orange wannabe-Hitler became the leader of previously-free world. It's so frustrating to see it infesting a show I like so much more.

Considering Rafael's history with Petra, and the fact that she is once again trying to hurt him, I don't see how he can be blamed for giving her a short leash. Rafael tries to reach out to Petra in this episode, and she turns him down. At some point, you need to cut ties with the toxic people in your life. It's up
