p much what happened is that in high school i dismissed emo as a lesser genre, (i started listening to shit like pavement in middle school) then upon arrival in college where i thought i'd meet people with similar taste, i discovered that every girl i crushed on was a big fan of say anything and brand new.

i honestly didn't listen to them until i graduated college, so my introduction was the devil and god which is a pretty alright album.

that album is all completely embarrassing, but the hooks are pretty damn good.

lmao i was in a frat in college and the front bottoms got plenty of play, and every time they got put on, some girl would perk up and say 'oh my god i love this band.'

their first album is ok. really the best thing associated with them is the jamie xx/gil scott-heron album
