If the Spin Doctors qualifies for the double-disc rerelease treatment then I don't even want to imagine what kind of godawful shit will be resurrected in five or six years for reappraisal. Seriously, we are about a stones throw from Bush and Collective Soul retrospectives. How fucking scary is that?

There are no apologies to be made for being a fan of The Cardigans. That band rules. Their early material is probably the most subversive cutesy pop music that has been made since The Carpenters, and their more overtly rocking post-First Band On The Moon stuff is pretty good too.

Oh wow, finally a new indie band that likes to say "Fuck you" occasionally. I'm sick of all this tired, sensitive shit. I'll have to check these guys out, 'cause I've been waiting for a band that doesn't give a shit about my feelings.

"Bullock uses Oscar Bait! It's super effective!"

The Kinks are the only band that are as massively popular and omnipresent as they are, but somehow still underrated and under appreciated. Have you gotten the Preservation Act albums yet? Everybody says that they suck, but everybody is wrong.

I disagree, but then again I'm one of those people who would have ponied up $500 for that Europe '72 boxset without even a second though. If only I had the money… At least my good ol' friend bittorrent helped me out with that one.

Aw yeah, American Beauty, the gateway drug. Unless you still harbor an aversion to the idea of delving into their live work, I would recommend you pick up a copy of Dick's Picks Volume 8. It's a show that was recorded right before the release of Workingman's Dead and the first set features acoustic performances of a

Somebody's been doing their homework.

You should check out Scout Niblett, since she has worked extensively with Steve Albini over the years. At one point her drummer was Todd Trainer. She is the awesomest.

No, they're not very good. Just another Dillinger Four knockoff that gets way too much praise from people who only listen to that style of punk.

This year I've been getting more into jazz and foreign music, aided very much by my discovery of The Numero Group record label. Thanks to them, I found out about Antena and Catherine Howe, which indirectly led to me to my favorite "discovery" of 2011, Lizzy Mercier Descloux. Everybody should listen to her, she was

Ever since Evil Dead… *shudders*

I'm real late on this and I'm sure nobody will respond, but Bob's Burgers is aces. I downloaded every episode from the first season and I must have watched them all at least three or four times, each time growing more and more desperate for just one more new story. Thank god it's back in just a few more months!

Jay Leno made an appearance at the end of John Q. I am embarrassed to know this much about either Jay Leno or the movie John Q.

I don't know if it's a sign of the times or if I'm just out of touch with what's popular, but I find it odd that the release of a new Beastie Boys album wasn't a bigger deal. I mean, even as 2004 a new B-Boys record was considered an event, a momentous occasion. I also liked Hot Sauce Committee a lot more than some

Ladies and gentlemen, witness the miracle utensil that's sweeping the exotic nation of Europe!

Do not apologize. You are doing God's work.

I've argued that American Movie is one of the best films ever made and I have the feeling that most people who have seen it would agree. I absolutely hate it when people talk about this movie and refer to Mark as an idiot. He knows exactly what he's doing.

A quick rant, but that new Looney Tunes show really is an abomination. Bugs and Daffy are friends? They fucking live together and hang out at coffee shops and talk about paying rent? That is some straight up bullshit! Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to remake Friends but with Looney Tunes characters? What hell
