My second-favorite episode of FIREFLY is the one where Mal sublimates all of his pain and anger under an impenetrable veneer of sarcasm, and then River says three vaguely amusing semi-autistic things and then flips out and attacks a bunch of people for no readily apparent reason.

If TV Club has to cover short-lived series, then they also have to cover pilots that never made it to series.

It's an exaggeration, I know. But I really don't think Juenet deserves any more than 9% of the blame. But on paper, he was the perfect director for an ALIEN project, and the majority of the film's badness comes from the ideas presented by the script.
