Louis-Ferdinand Céline is the textbook example of the artist you really need to separate from his art. He was a virulent antisemite, bigot and racist who collaborated with the Nazi, wrote anti-jew propaganda and later became a Holocaust denier. He also wrote one of the greatest books of the 20th century.

@avclub-94d8526a5fae933806f65b8a0f49301a:disqus Yes clearly the only way to reach out to moderately religious people is to insult them constantly and blatantly misrepresent their beliefs.

@avclub-bb8fab48c58e21a6e63eb8f9be0e7717:disqus Vocal internet atheists like Gervais have zero tolerance for the vast majority of mildly religious, perfectly decent people and actively alienate them by calling them morons all day on twitter and lumping them with fundamentalists or extremists. They aren't accomplishing

"Say what you will about Woody, but at least the guy — to my knowledge, anyway — didn't force himself on a 13-year-old."
High praise.

Yes emotionally manipulating a girl you raised as a daughter into fucking you and destroying a family that thought of her as such is a perfectly commendable thing to do if you are an artist. Thanks for clearing that up.

I like it way better than Rushmore because I'm not asked to root for the irritating, precious little shit that movie features as a protagonist. I am stupid though.

Unrelated but w/e

"Time Keeps on Slipping" and "Parasites Lost" are classics that should be in there instead of crap like "Reincarnation" or "Xmas Story".

I watched the show in a vacuum and the irrational Skyler hate is mostly the internet being the internet. It's also a byproduct of many people not getting it through their thick skulls that Walter White is a monster.

"It’s the most over-praised entry in television’s present golden age"

Mad Men is an overrated soap opera with shitty writing and you should listen to your wife.

They've yet to do "classic" reviews of the Wire season 1 to 4 and I'm looking forward to these to watch it again once AVC is done exploring the true classics of our age such as "The Office (US)" and "Friends".

" Cars and its 007-flavored sequel are plainly labors of love"

Dexter turned to shit somewhere between season 2 and 3 when the writers decided that rather than cool monster-of-the-week episodes we'd rather watch Dexter pretend to be a normal person and sit around the house with his wife and children. And season 4 is overrated. Well that's all the opinions I have for today, see

@avclub-ab7d240c84d7265faec0b698a29c6ca7:disqus Yes I am sure carrying more than is reasonable would really have broken immersion for the people playing a game set on a flying city where you drink magical juices that make attack crows hatch from your hands.

@Roswulf:disqus But gameplay is an essential part of videogames. It's less important in some games than others (adventure games/visual novels for example) but if you're making a shooter then the game needs to be judged on how good a shooter it is, everything else is just polish. You wouldn't judge a movie based on how

As for me, I do not own a television.

@Roswulf:disqus You're putting a lot of words in my mouth here. First my problem with gaming "journalism" is with their complete inability to be objective when it comes to AAA titles - either they buy into the hype (fanboys) or they feed it (PR).
It's a secret to absolutely nobody that Metacritic-worthy review outlets

BioInf is a linear, cinematic asset-tour with abysmal FPS gameplay. I think that's a fair assessment of what the game is and the only reason people think it's a "harsh" one is because of the ridiculous and undeserved hype around it. The greatest story in the world couldn't save a game this tedious and Bioshock's story
