Yep, my intestines felt like they were about to rise up out of my mouth during that car scene.

GOD IS THERE ANYTHING FUCKING COOLER THAN GANGSTERS LINED UP AND SHOOTING WINDOWS AND SHIT FOR HALF A MINUTE?

Can we please take a moment to recognize how fucking fantastic Tim Van Patten is as a director? This episode's writing—like most of this season—was splendid, no doubt, but Van Patten is just so good at conjuring such brilliantly cinematic, layered, and tense imagery. I remember he really had a knack for it on The

"GoT has nothing to do with Earth even. It's a complete fantasy."

Definitely. He's still one of the most wildly inventive writers today, but I'm worried that he may never win due to his own aversion to winning awards and prizes, both in quotes of him saying as such, and for such things as declining the 2007 Kiriyama Prize for Fiction.

Since when has The Onion included forum post-like shitposting in their pieces? Had I known this, I could probably have attained a writing position with them years ago!

Bummer to see Murakami losing out once again. There is hardly a writer like him in the world, right now, and, as bleak as the atmosphere of his works can be, they speak extraordinarily well to our way of contemporary life…Oh, well.

@avclub-e95a45d0b1f5afdf0ab9cde82b4b1d06:disqus Wow, you're, like, so totally aloof, bro. Totally epic.

Sweet spoilers. Not all of us have been able to watch the finale, yet,

That was hard as fuck.

Seriously? I live a couple hours hours north, and used to visit family all the time, there. Now I'll really have to go back.

I actually am going to have to disagree and say I'm quite enjoying where Van Alden is at right now. He started off the series as a hard-lined agent with his own rigid code of ethics and an almost immovable sense of pattern and structure, and once the latter was totally ripped away from him, he had to try and shift his

For all of the show's flaws, Daniels has actually been fucking rock-solid, and I'm glad to see him win, though I don't even really pay attention to award shows. The first season alone made him out to be a greatly flawed, yet oddly relatable, character. It's also tiring seeing the Breaking Bad/Mad Men circlejerks on

"Boardwalk Empire just isn't living up to it's reputation, and Game of Thrones is not nearly as good as people make it out to be"

This makes me simultaneously sad yet happy, because it's a legitimately hilarious piece of camp/black humour like no other on television, yet it can equally just be painful to watch.

@disqus_SHv8DoYfkF:disqus I'm actually pretty offended, and slightly pissed off, that you've made so many assumptions about me based off of one measly comment I made, and one which was meant to be highly sardonic in the first place. Where am I "making a stance against objectification"? Where am I "whining" about male

@avclub-6fd0e0526d9d0ccf474e886616e439d4:disqus Thank you, but no worries at all, my friend. I'm really fatigued, so perhaps my cynically-tinged jokes aren't coming out as clearly as normal tonight. :(

Yeah, that scene was cute, as was her little frustrated hopping in the background upon her initial failure to teleport to the faerie plane.

Yeah, seriously. At least most of the show's episode titles/ending credits songs relate to the content of the episode in some way.

@avclub-6fd0e0526d9d0ccf474e886616e439d4:disqus I'm not dismissing anybody or anything. I was just trying to make a humourous observation, but I suppose that failed. Oh well.
