I liked that bit, I just felt like the movie had done such a good job portraying the tension and doubt, but didn't really know how to portray the chaos of the finale with the same confidence.

I really liked the first 2 acts of The Invitation (some of the dialogue aside), excellent sustained tension and creepiness. It just didn't stick the landing though - It sort of slowed to a crawl right when things were supposed to be at their most insane.

Given the way the franchise has gone, a fully CGI character makes perfect sense at this point.
