Yeah, but in the book…in the book…the…Gah! My powers are fading!

Oh don't mock. We're all on the same superhero boat here. I'm a huge fan of the MCU and the tone of its movies for the most part. Just felt that Ultron needed to give a shit about itself a bit more to give a shit about. We're onto Phase 3 of this whole venture now, I'd like to see some real dramatic turns, some real

Yeah, I know where you're coming from. I'm a big fan of the MCU. I'm even a fan of Age of Ultron. But when I was watching it I just wished it would take itself a bit more seriously. Just to feel like the stakes mattered more.

Weren't the studio heads unhappy with how dark the previous draft was? Maybe this new writer has been hired to add more quips. Because Age of Ultron really benefited from an influx of quips and a lowered sense of gravity and consequence.

Throw in the Xfm stuff, the podcasts, and Extras too, and I'm pretty much a lifetime fan. Some of his stand-up isn't bad either, some of

Na, there was an amazing alchemy going on in that old XFM show. Ricky become more and more enraptured by Karl, while at the same time becoming less and less able to put up with the bullshit he spouted was absolutely hysterical.
Take Ricky, Steve or Karl out of the equation and it wouldn't have worked as well. Same for

Sad to see it go, but gotta respect the guy for wrapping it up on his own terms. Now we'll always have this two-season close-to-perfect show. Deciding to end it when it reached its natural conclusion really worked for Avatar too.

Random dissections of characters from beloved Ghibli movies are exactly the kind of thing that makes me keep coming back to this site.

Needs a bit of Totoro.
