Hayao Miyazaki. I'll be crushed.
Hayao Miyazaki. I'll be crushed.
As the years passed, I began to dislike most JRPG character design more and more, both because of the over sexualization, and the fact that they're usually made to look 'cool' without much thought for their context in the story or in the world. I mean, what the hell is Lulu from FFX wearing…she lives on a beach!
Even leaving aside the gameplay (which I quite enjoyed in a "this is a cool mix-up of the formula that I hope they only do once" kind of way) there was a bunch of things I found really really fresh at the time that made me ok with how decidedly un-Final Fantasy it felt coming off the heels of VII to X.
This is the most positive review I've read for this game by far. Also, "misunderstood classic Final Fantasy XII"- YES.
Was going to watch this show in a complete eight-episode stretch, but I buckled under the hype that this episode has generated. Was not disappointed; not by this episode, or by its last six minutes, or by the series itself. One of the best things I've watched in a while. Can't wait to experience the remainder of the…
"Bruce, I swear to God, if you don't turn off that Nintendo right now…" "SWEAR TO ME!"
It's every man's fantasy come to life.
That Gwendoline Christie is just delightful.
Nice one, human race. Keepin' it real.
I still find The Drawing of the Three stupidly enjoyable. Lobstrosities!
In my opinion a comic called Order of the Stick is the only one that's managed it.
Man, this made me realize how long it's been since I watched an anime. Baccano might have been the last. Gave Attack on Titan a go but it didn't stick. Feel like I should give it a second chance.
So is this officially a prequel now again? Or will there be some sort of time travel angle?
Cool! Julian Glover is a goddamned chameleon anyway. My Who knowledge only extends as far back as Eccleston, I'm afraid. I did my best, I'm sorry!
Tooth and Claw began my "ok, let's count all the Game of Thrones characters that pop up in Who" list, which becomes surprisingly big by the time 11 bows out. The first three are in this episode as far as I know- Pyat Pree, Rodrik Cassell, and Jory Cassell.
I understand the trepidation, but I'm playing the shit out of this on the 28th. I've been waiting pretty much all of my adult life for a Schafer-produced classic-style adventure game.
If you watched this episode when you were a kid then there is a 95% chance that you've said "My eyes! The goggles do nothing!" at least once in the last two months.
When I was younger and completely adverse to this show I remember seeing chunks of this episode at Christmas and feeling wholly vindicated that watching it would be a waste of time.
As someone who lives a mere forty minute drive from Kerry, this is my new favorite thing.
If anyone might be even be remotely interested I recently finished watching this show (well, from Eccleston up to 11th's recent regeneration) for the first time, and have immediately become an unashamedly enthusiastic fan.
