Westworld was low key 'ruined' for me by starting to read recaps 3/4 of the way through. I'm confident I similarly would have put the MIB piece together (can't actually remember whether or not I did), but I don't think I would have called the Jeffrey Wright reveal without reading speculation.

This is basically what happened with Lost. Anecdotally, I'd say the ending worked just fine for casual viewers, while those who'd been speculating online for years were left disappointed.
