I really hope you're right. Legitimately conflicted over how much she cares about him versus how much she's using him is an interesting dynamic, and one which applied to their relationship last season. Lately, every time she claims she's so obsessed with Brody because he's their best option, it sounds like an excuse,

At least it's stupid in a way that's fairly consistent with her character from season 1, and earlier this season. I'm just getting really sick of her doing stupid things to protect the terrorist who screwed her over.

Yeah, as I said, poorly articulated. I'll clarify.

The "Brody must save Carrie" plot bothered me regardless of its believability. Carrie started off as this dynamic, fascinating, seriously flawed, but also strong and competent character, more dangerously obsessive about her work than anything else. This season first shifted that emphasis toward her terrorist

The whole Joss/Charisma Carpenter controversy from Angel's later seasons really breaks my heart. He sounds like he was kind of a jerk.

The Jess-Cece baby-panic subplot rubbed me the wrong way, but more because it was silly than stereotypical. Jess and Cece would both, hopefully, see their gynecologists semi-regularly. I would think this is something said gynecologist might have brought up at an earlier date.

But who other than Stephanie Meyer could evoke such bland, lifeless performances from the likes of Saoirse Ronan and someone with Jeremy Irons' DNA? Hm? Think Speilberg could do that? Think again.
