Oh, man, the book of John is so great. If you read it in a good translation, there is a palpable sense of excitement, of something epic and amazing.

Kate Bosworth was completely miscast, unfortunately. One of the most critical things you can do in any depiction of Superman and Lois Lane is to ensure that he is an introvert and she's an extrovert. Kate Bosworth played her as far too withdrawn.

Some people complain that when you look at prestige dramas, almost all the great, morally complicated characters are white men, and I think it's a valid gripe. But the problem is that there is such a push to elevate the prominence and dignity of women and minorities on the screen that studios fear charges of misogyny
