Yeah, Bush was a thoroughly terrible president, but I never had any reason to believe that he was actively trying to destroy the nation, or that he hated everyone who wasn't himself. Everything I've heard indicates that he's a pretty affable guy one-on-one. And none of those seem to be true of anyone who is in power

Twy vewy, vewy hawd not to destwoy us.

Not for nothing, but I know people who refused to watch it fifteen years ago, for exactly the same reason.

If NPR told me to eat my own pants, I would do it.

Might, uh, want to pay attention where you put it down, too.

Somebody asked Christian Bale a few years ago if he thought he'd be able to get into American Psycho shape again if he had to, and he talked about how doing so required him to spend every waking moment either in the gym or eating baked chicken. It's completely possible as long as you don't want to do anything else.

Any time one of those stories breaks in real life, there's always a bit of attention paid to the guys who're yelling "lucky bastard!" at the kid. I can totally see the AP being caught flat-footed by that storyline not testing well among men. "That's TOTALLY a thing people fantasize about!"

And is, to all accounts, a pretty friendly guy.

The scene he has opposite Loki in the first Avengers?

I think we all knew this was coming.

I don't ever know how to respond to that stuff. I pray that the people I vote for will actually attempt to do some portion of what they promise. It's impossible for me to feel sympathy because their guy did exactly what the fuck he said he was going to do. "I didn't think he'd actually do it"? Well, you're a

I always go back and forth on this. On the one hand, the idea of giving Mike Pence more power is abhorrent. One of the saving graces of Trump being the president is how clueless and thin-skinned he is. Pence knows how to work within the system and will, presumably, be much more efficient at accomplishing evil. On

Always glad to be of service.

I mean, if we as a nation had to make it work after massive deportations, we would eventually. I also think that in areas where people are used to having immigrants doing that kind of work, there's not going to be any great, enthusiastic rush of kids looking to be dishwashers and do prep work.

Oh man, this. I'd hear stuff about Trump's showmanship and the appeal of his ultrasimplified vocabulary and just . . . didn't get it. Like, putting any actual policy aside for the moment, it's beyond my ken how that grating voice, cartoonish accent and unfocused speech patterns somehow come off as charismatic and

I could see the former happening, or at least being used as an excuse. I have absolutely no faith in the latter.

"Lately I've been de-emphasizing what actors think of as character work. The limps and lisps, the accents – I don't want to be bothered. You gotta make it come from the inside. It's all about who you are. That's all you can really contribute. I feel autobiographical about whatever I do.

Intense, though. He's not small so much as he's concentrated.
