The late-night trailers they played on television had me terrified as a kid. People wondering if they heard something, going out to take a look, and then getting pulled screaming under a truck or through an air vent.  When I saw it 20yrs later the tension didn't measure up to my memories..

I learned about the show 4hrs after tickets were on sale and after fighting with a shitty online ticketing service I was stoked to get them and had no problems paying $60per.  If he came out and busted it out for an hour+ I'd be here extolling his virtues.  But he didn't.  He lazied the fuck onto stage, told a few

I saw him in Portland a few weeks ago and walked away disappointed.  Show was for 10:30pm, he came on at 11:30pm and it seemed he had about 30-45minutes of very loose, un-honed material.  After that he basically riffed off whatever the audience was yelling at him.  My wife and I left shortly after 1am when it was

After the Avengers movie I took my kids to the comic book store and we've got a box now with Avengers vs Xmen for them and Saga + Manhattan Projects for me.  I haven't purchased an ongoing comic(Chris Ware's erratic output doesn't count) for almost 25yrs.  So it sucked me back in.

Liked him in Training Day and always thought it was odd that people made so much of Denzel's one-note performance while it was Ethan that had to go through all the emotional somersaults.

I was big into his stuff when I was in college and it was a pain in the ass to find.  I contacted his company via mail and it was like $80 per tape and I had to go to various Tower Videos to find the titles I wanted.  I get the impression that he's always wanted to keep all the profits to himself and that's why his

Agree.  Loved this movie.  Had never heard of it until a couple of reviews when the DVD came out and I recommend it whenever possible.  And yes, I think there's alotta indebtedness to Roeg in terms of how it came out.  The editing reminded me of things from The Man Who Fell to Earth and Bad Timing and Don't Look Now.

As somebody who went through great lengths to install a 2.35 theater in his basement I'd like to express my disappointment at how Dark Knight was handled on home media.

Is there a reason I shouldn't like The Incredibles as much as I do?  It's probably my favorite Pixar movie but it seems like it gets treated as second-tier Pixar.  I was pretty blown away by all the superhero/James Bond-y set pieces and action sequences the first time I watched it and still get emotional when the

You are not alone.  Didn't know what I was getting into and was pleasantly surprised to have the movie keep things off balance as to where it was going.  Michael Parks's performance is easily the film's biggest selling point and Kevin Smith's aimless monologues were pretty much nowhere to be seen.  Recommended!
