Once again, I don't understand mothers like this.  Do they not have enough to do with their time?  Are they trying to punish you in some passive-aggressive way?  If this were done to me, some of mum's stuff would definitely be going away, and I'd be smirking when she tried to find it…

Well, not much you can do about a teacher taking your stuff, but damn when I was a kid if someone took your crap you'd just steal it back when they weren't looking, or - if you could - take it back by force.  I grant you that it's not always possible (see my later post) but the effort must be made.

That's easy.  My (much) older brother's Marvel comics from the '60's, stolen from me by unethical older brothers of my friends when I was a 7 or 8.  Really early stuff, hopefully stolen in turn from them.

Maybe he came from a high school with a really tight curriculum and he's worried that Brown's more freewheeling academic style may not be to his liking.

Well…for whatever reason, when I saw it I was 100% sure that he didn't save the day at the end of the movie, so that didn't bother me that much.  And although a little different, it was well-handled on its own terms.

Ugh.  Strange that the man's filmmaking hallmark seems to various attempts to make serial killers lovable.  Well, that and casting his wife in everything.

Some advice, if you're inclined:  Read the novelization for Halloween III.  It's quite good and can usually be found on eBay for $5-7.
