Check out the Acoustic Blowout on YouTube. It's the best un-plugged show ever filmed, they do "the hits", some great covers (BOC, CCR) and the best versions of "Little Man With a Gun in His Hand", "History Lesson", "Felt like a Gringo" and "Corona".

P.S. we also thank van halen, steely dan, & creedence clearwater revival for writing timeless music and richard meltzer for writing STAIRWAY TO THE STARS

Ah, Paranoid Time!

Ditto. Billy in his no-band have guitar will travel days too.

Husker Du didn't start as hardcore. The really early stuff, the Northern Lights demos etc are Ramones-like. Then they went a bit PiL. Then Land Speed Record.

Agree with Beatles for Sale, next to Revolver and The Beatles that's my favourite (Mr Moonlight is horrible though). It's artsy without being fartsy.

There's a lot of ego power play going on with New Day Rising as well. Spot moving the entire console an inch, because he could. Erasing the slide-guitar part on The Girl Who Lives on Heaven Hill and most idiotically not allowing 2541 on the album in favour of some of the more silly side 2 songs.

Get 'em on vinyl and they sound a lot better, the CD's are a disgrace.

It's out there on (Youtube & "Cheap Trick Albini") and it's pretty fantastic. The whole of the album recorded raw Albini style, including re-done versions of the songs they did for John Lennon before Yoko nixed it.

UK obscurities in full, for you consideration

25 UK-centric, Belgian list to follow:

"He whisked off her shoes and panties in one movement, wild like an enraged shark, his bulky totem beating a seductive rhythm. Mary's body felt like it was burning, even though the room was properly air-conditioned. They tried all the positions: on top, doggy, and normal. Exhausted, they collapsed on to the recently

“The Mainland” from Father Ted though then you have to have an
episode of One Foot in the Grave as well, perhaps “Warm Champagne”
from series 4.

Whatever Lemmy says. He used to go and see them live.

Big Sky is better than any Beatles song and I love the Beatles.

Lennon and Macca would've said Davies too. From interviews I've read they were pretty intimidated and awe-struck by him (Lennon's favourite song was Wonderboy for god's sake), Macca said the Kinks were the weirdo group at the the time and compared them to The Smiths in the 80's.

Proof these lists come out too early = Brian Pern: A Life in Rock series 2. Only 1 episode in but hit the potential hinted at in series 1.
