I enjoyed the book. I'm a Heinlein fan from way back when I was small. Spider Robinson (Heinlein's mega fan so mega they let him finish an unfinished Heinlein novel & who was a pretty cool guy before that) would tell you it's not fascist.

Perhaps the best show on TV, but yeah, his stand-up never did much for me.  I'm not a big fan of the faux brick wall in general though.

I love Cryptonomicon, and though parts aren't going to come true, I worked in a similar business at a similar time, and many, many details are spot on.  Also love Diamond Age.  Can't stand Baroque Cycle—if he'd had an editor with the ability to say "no" sometimes, would have been amazing.
