Thought this episode was awful. The jokes were completely off (that Captain Hook line was trying to be cringey nervous-laugh-worthy, but was meaningless, irrelevant and unfunny) and the characters were all slightly off tonight, particularly Sheldon.

Well the jokes made about Carlton came from a place of affection when they came from Will, and so regardless of his apparent double standards he's redeemed by his defence of his cousin, his sheer and utter acceptance of who his cousin is in thought, word and deed. But you're right, probably, that Carlton was a very

The skew they have towards character humour is evident in the first two series (and in a couple of later ones like 'Marooned'), because the plot in any given episode doesn't tend to start until halfway through the episode. In 'Kryten' it takes until something like 16 minutes in for the gang to actually meet Kryten in

True. For my money the funniest episode is the original 'Kryten': it's just a series of incredibly funny gag sets, from 'Esperanto' to 'Art college' to 'Aliens' to 'Dog Milk' to 'Space Adventurer' to 'I said you were a shelf' to the phenomenally funny introduction to the women.

I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. See you later.

I've seen Only Fools and Horses get a lot of stick for being a 'popular' comedy, which is a bit of an unfair thought process really. It genuinely is, a few exceptions aside (and which sitcom hasn't a few exceptions), incredibly funny pretty consistently. It's got good gags, strong characters, a fair amount of tragedy

In the TV series Ace just mentions the twist, you don't get the wonderful midlogue/epilogue that you get in Rob Grant's Backwards. What a lovely and deep character study.
