My bf's brother goes by Pickle, but that's primarily because it's his last name (it's not my bf's last name. My bf's mom sort of got around).

I don't remember that requirement, but I probably wrote to my Congressman too. It was probably Sam Johnson, who is still my parents' Congressman, despite being about 500 years old.

It's 2017. How many 9-year-olds are going to handwrite a letter?

I'm not much of a podcast person, but I have been listening to Whistlestop on my drive to and from work. It's hosted by Face the Nation's John Dickerson, and is about various amusing/interesting stories involving the presidency over the years. It started out as focusing on stories from presidential campaigns, but

I had one conservative friend on FB (not the gay one I referenced upthread) who admitted this week he voted for Trump both because he thought he was better than Hillary and because he really hoped that Pence would end up in the White House.

My fellow Americans, the United States Military will be striking…

And the Pentagon really loves it when the first tweet which announces that he and his "generals" will not allow… isn't followed up for 9 minutes. "Will not allow…North Korea to exist any longer?" "Will not allow…Russia to continue to be deprived of the ownership of Alaska?"

If that was his intention, it backfired bigly. Orrin Hatch—Orrin Hatch!—publicly rebuked him for it.

My gay, Trump-loving, constantly posting right-wing memes on Facebook friend still hasn't said a word about it on FB. Then again, he's also hasn't said much of anything on there since yesterday. I'm kind of hoping he's grappling with the knowledge that his beloved will be more than happy to throw him under the bus,

Trump is still relatively popular in Alaska, so I suspect he and/or his advisers think they can pressure her. The problem is that Murkowski is pretty much Alaskan political royalty, and she just got re-elected in November, which means that she can pretty much do whatever she wants for a while.

Fuck Trump is right. My boyfriend doesn't follow news all that closely, so I got a panicked call from him a while ago, wanting me to explain what happened and worrying about what else Trump could do the LGBT community. He has a 7-year-old son (he's the biological father and has primary custody), and he's worried

I checked the FB feed of my gay GOP friend—one who is constantly posting post-Trump memes. Today, he's posted a gif of the kid at the rally last night getting the Russian flag ripped out of his hands and a meme slamming single payer. Gee…nothing about what your hero did today, Dave?

Depending on what his poll numbers (both overall and among GOP voters) look like come mid-2019, I wouldn't be surprised if several potential candidate treat the primary like there isn't a Republican incumbent at all.

I haven't done the research, but none of our recent previous governors have run for the Senate after their terms in Austin were up. Meanwhile, Kay Bailey Hutchison—a far better Senator than either of our current jagoffs and one of the few Republicans I've voted for in the last 15 years—retired from the Senate to run

Back when I lived in Fort Worth, I lived in Wendy Davis's district. That was nice. Then, I moved to the Denton County part of Dallas and now onto Lewisville. I'm too scared to even see who my Congressman and state reps are now.

How about Dan Patrick and his passion for that godawful bathroom bill? And the reason Abbott is for it is because he's worried that Patrick might challenge him next year (as awful as Abbott is, having Patrick as the governor would be worse. He'd basically be a clone of Comrade President.).

It's OK, though, as a White House staffer has revealed it's not because Trump hates trans people. Nope, he's only trying to create a wedge issue for the midterms next year. See, he still does love the LGBT community!

And some of our brothers did as well (I went to a different school, and am still quite happy that the last time we played them, in College Station no less, we won 34-27. I was nice enough not to rub it in too badly, but I digress). It really is an excellent school, even if they admitted Goodhair.

To be fair, A&M is a really good school (and if you don't believe me, ask my brother who has covered half the surfaces of his house with A&M memorabilia)). I'm pretty sure Former Gov. Goodhair's GPA was in the low 2s.

I'm guessing the day Pence or whatever Democrat crushes Trump in 2020 gets sworn in, what the president does will suddenly be of much less interest to the editors here.
