I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the fictional political horror-comedy might have unperformed because of competition from the real-life political horror-comedy called Election 2016.

Langella's 80s/early 90s IMDB credit list is….checkered…to say the least.

My major complaint about this year's Hamiltonys was the almost-complete lack of attention to the plays. At least this year, the Best Play award came very late in the broadcast. A year or two ago, it wasn't even two hours into the show when Play was awarded. But it's short of shocking to go back to a Tonys from the

Apparently, both Daveed Diggs and Leslie Odem's appearances were from last season of SVU. Maybe it's time to start watching it again (I haven't since shortly after Meloni left).

And if not, he'll get plenty more chances. In the Heights looks to be in pre-production, and it's probably a safe bet he'll write a new song or two. Plus, he'll probably write some music for Mary Poppins Returns, and, sooner or later, we'll get Hamilton: The Motion Picture.

A few days ago, I stumbled on Hamilton's Easter Bonnet performance on YouTube, which rewrote "Alexander Hamilton" as a tribute to Sweeney Todd. To say it was awesome would be an understatement.

The problem with that is that his show is based in LA.

And make no mistake, Danny Boy is Texas's Hater-in-Chief. He's spent the spring basically dreaming of bringing North Carolina's bathroom bill to the state, and has gone as far as to demand that the superintendent of Fort Worth's school district resign because he signed off on a trans-friendly bathroom policy (the

America will listen for approximately 30 seconds. Then it will be distracted by something shiny.

I believe his office when they said the tweet had been pre-planned and uploaded last week to post at that time, and that it was just a very unfortunate coincidence. That said, the fact that so many people thinks our lieutenant governor would actually tweet something like that deliberately tells you just how odious a

The Marquis hasn't had a show play for over a year since The Drowsy Chaperone, which closed in 2007. That's an awful track record for a musical house.

I'm pretty sure Hamilton won't win Revival of a Play, but I'm not 100% on that.

Exactly. Hamilton is the only nominee that your average non-Broadway fan in Peoria might have heard of (OK, so he probably has also heard of Fiddler on the Roof, but local productions of Fiddler haven't exactly been rare commodities over the years). Very few people are going to tune in specifically to see the

Pink Flamingos. To be fair, my partner didn't like it either. Still didn't keep him from quoting the movie at me for the next three years.

Serving Sara was Elizabeth Hurley, not Salma Hayek.

I didn't think it was Grizzly Man, but for the life of me, I couldn't think of any other film title that ended in "Man" other than Honky Tonk Man, and of the two, I figured Grizzly Man was slightly more likely.

To be fair, ABC had pretty lousy luck with daytime games after 1970 or so. Family Feud was a huge smash, of course, but every other successful show was pretty much a revival/continuation of another network's game (Password, Pyramid, Let's Make a Deal). Given that the networks soaps were pulling in monster ratings

I saw a production of Black Comedy about 10 years ago that, with the exception of various Noises Offs, might have been the funniest play I've ever seen. The guy knew how to write comedies.
