CNN might cover it if it happens, (since it is a "news" network), but I'm guessing there will be plenty of other camera angles for the other networks broadcasting from Times Square that they don't have to show the protesters unless they prove to be a major disruption.

CBS used to air "Happy New Year, America" until the mid-90s. I remember their musical guests were a lot less hip than Dick Clark's, but then again, since it was CBS, the show was probably trying to appeal to older audiences that weren't going out that night. I'm guessing that it got it's ass kicked in the ratings

You know he has to think every year "Remember, this is paying for your new deck/second home/trip to Europe/Ferrari".

One of my brothers was born in late September and another was born in early October. I'm officially squigged out now.

The Lost World (the book) is pretty much a crappy screenplay in novel form, which is why it's pretty ironic that Spielberg and company tossed out huge chunks of the novel in their own crappy screenplay.

The party I was at last year had CNN's special with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin on. As I recall from my semi-paying attention to it (it was kind of a dull party) Kathy had handcuffed herself to Anderson. Hopefully, the TV will be on something else this year.

I hope the reason that no obit has appeared yet is because they're working on something substantial. Otherwise, it seems odd that the site has yet to acknowledge the death of the (formerly) oldest living Oscar winner.

To be fair, it didn't beat Citizen Kane. Just High Noon and The Quiet Man (while Singin' in the Rain wasn't even nominated for Picture).

If you're only looking for TV torrents, there's an EZ way to watch TV torrents, .it seems.

Hey, at least you have your own copy. Speaking of which, it's high time for an update/sequel to that book. Not Since That Tupac Musical That Came And Went In Five Minutes Over the Summer.

Um…he probably shouldn't be told about Annie.

Having once been a regular listener of Rush, I'm familiar with his "demonstrating absurdity by being absurd". The problem, as I recall, is that he usually would end up with a strawman, and then attack the Democrats/liberals as if the far extreme he ended up going to was what they were currently striving for. Both

Breakfast at Tiffany's played Broadway as Breakfast at Tiffany's, though it was Holly Golightly out of town. Then again, that one never formally opened, and I think it was supposed to be based more on the novella than the movie anyway. But, from what I've read, ticket sales were not the reason the plug was pulled on

I was going to mention that you were only 20 feet away from Steve Carell as well, but it turns out you didn't attend a taping of Over the Top.

Actually, Cop Rock itself followed another musical show, Hull High, which premiered a month earlier. Since the premise of singing, dancing high school kids is somewhat less ridiculous than the premise of singing, dancing cops, Hull High has largely been forgotten.

Oh geez…the one time my parents dragged me to Branson, they dragged me to his show. I think my presence in the theater dropped the average age of the audience by at least a few years.

You also call him "Blockhead", if you're Lucy, or Violet, or (non-Peppermint) Patty.

I think the fear was that people wouldn't pay good money to see a musical version of an old movie, no matter how popular said movie was. Also, the general attitude among theater types is that theater was so much more important and artistic than movies that to openly admit in the title that the show was an adaption of

I'm even more amazed that CBS has arguably the biggest female star in movies today starring in one of its sitcoms and the network can't seem to figure out what to do with her show.

Not to mention that the angle of the hallway means that the bedrooms on the right side would be jutting through the kitchen wall. Also, I'm still trying to figure out how Rose ended up with a bedroom twice the size of Blanche's, since Blanche is the one who actually owns the house.
