I hate The Goonies, too—and not in the "I know I'm bucking the trend by hating a beloved movie and thus acknowledge that I am out of step with my peers" way that I hate Heathers but in the "Jesus Christ, this is the most annoying, abrasive, disgusting piece of shit I've ever seen and my peers must be insane to think

"Prick makes my ass twitch."   That sounds like one of those good problems.

I didn't mind it. I thought he magic carpet raft from Temple of Doom was far, far worse.

I've always hated—HATED—Temple of Doom; Crystal Skull, bad as it was, was better than that.  The other two? Raiders is a masterpiece, Crusade is okay.

Billy Bob Thornton was an ass in an interview; he's been an ass in many interviews. Still like watching him act.

So shilling for Coors is being True to the Game? Shit like this is why I hate gangsta rap—well, this and the fact that and it sucks.

Exactly. She does a perfect job playing the sexy guttersnipe. The face she made as she perused the play in "A Dangerous Maid"—the smart face of a dumb girl—was amazing.

The scrapbook reminded me of Darger, too,

(Nice sideways slam of Murray Gold, btw…)

It looks like Moffat will try to return him to "mostly-anonymous wanderer" but I wonder if it will work at this point.

I wonder if Spike Lee knew about this when he made Bamboozled, a truly awful but nonetheless thought-provoking movie.

But Doctor Who is, almost by definition, ridiculous—that's what makes it great. It just has to be the right kind of ridiculous…

Oh yeah—living in the South Jersey of 2011, I have little experience with Piney vagrants from the 1920s. I envy you yours; who services your TARDIS?

I like Paz de la Huerta. I like Lucy Danzinger as a character more than I like Margret Schroeder.

I thought The Russian was going to emerge from a timefold…

Does anyone else find it odd that Dominic Chianese, such a major elemet of The Sopranos, is little more than set decoration here?

It was poetic, for the Sioux.

The wrestling was NOT harmless. Eli was going for his revolver. He was gonna use it. Note also that Eli was fixing his son's cap gun when George stopped by. Cap gun: not just impotence but broken impotence.

Not a slam but a legitimate criticism; NuWho is good—better than the original by a wide margin—but it is hardly perfect. Its greatest failing is an outgrowth of its greatest strength: it's mythic now, at times too much so.

I'm listening to the song off Vevo as I read this. Thanks, guys.
