I like Jen Kirkman tons, but her standup always leaves me feeling like I wish I was laughing more. I love her personality and views on things, but I end up nodding and chuckling more than laughing out loud. I should try her book and see if I feel different.

I'd say it works, at least for his goal, but I don't think it works for us. It is not a style we are taken in by.

I finished The Color of Magic, which I thought was good, but clear why people said is not the best introduction to the Discworld series. If I knew no other Pratchett and that was the first I'd read I might not continue. Still, I enjoyed it for the most part.
