This show had good bits and the atmosphere of the hot sweaty tracks was great. Ultimatley it didn't hold my interest because the characters mostly didn't distinguish themselves. The gamblers were interchangeable. Hoffman and Farina were great but I had not idea what they were up to. Things would happen that would

The problem I had with the Jo is pregnant story is that there is absolutely no chemistry between those actors to even suggest that their characters were fucking. All she has to do on the show is yell at people for abusing horses.

The American Humane Society is big. PETA is a radical fringe.

I loved the duck joke in all its permutations. Especially since the second version made you think that the duck lived and then the Chinese restaurant killed it.

I don't know. I was disappointed at first but I started to love it by the third episode and the fourth won made me very happy. Part of that is because the episodes build on each other and tell one large story from many different perspectives so that every time it comes back to the same bit it's that much funnier.

The only episode that I found disappointing was the first one primarily because it lost Michael's facade of stability and just made him into a lunatic. The rest of the series I loved.

And now I'm disappointed. But the reviewer thinks that the How I Met Your Mother time mysteries are desperate late season additions as opposed to the main reason the show was so beloved in the early seasons (the pineapple episode was when the show found itself) so hopefully the Wednesday reviewers will be more

And now Arrested Development has schooled MOffat in overlapping screwed up timelines.

The first episode was a weird nod to everyone that pointed out that even though Michael was the only sane character in the show, in reality he was just as nuts as everyone in his family. I personally didn't like that episode because it made Michael out to be fully delusional instead of just neurotic.

He's 29 now. So he was in his 20s when he was playing a high school student. He has just hit that point where the whole "I can eat anything I want and never get fat" dynamic becomes "Shit, my metabolism is fucking with me."

Oh good. There IS a place on AV Club where we can talk about Arrested Development. Really think they should have a section for the show - maybe get someone to review it or something. That would be awesome. But at least we're here.

NO need to go that far. Just return the characters to the ones that grew and developed over time and didn't just act like stereotypes.

So the weird look is intentional?

This time it's anustart

He was about the hurt the feelings of two redheads.

YES.

I borrowed the first season from the library and I couldn't stand the fucking thing. First off, every goddamn music cue is either some patriotic dirge or a bullshit tension inducer. None of the characters are believable. Half of them are so fucking unoriginal that they might as well be wearing bigass signs that say

She was only sexy when she was a superhero. The rest of the time she was an uptight school teacher.

But Nightcrawler is a good German Christian who likes shtupping his sister.

So those Hulk/Iron Man scenes aren't going to pay off?
