Snarky takedowns of Man of Steel have become a really pervasive pastime for a lot of people. I realize that snarky takedowns are the norm here, but in this case I will not go along. What Goyer said makes sense to me, and I think that while it did have its flaws, the film got things right conceptually, given the goal

I am early Gen-Y I guess, and was too young to ride this thing the first time around. I've listened to Nevermind and Unplugged, but never really delved into In Utero. This seems like a great opportunity, so I will probably pick one of the CD sets up.

Someone recently mentioned that the mid-90s still seems "10 years ago" to them, and I am the same way.

Admission: That is the only song I know by any of the members, including songs by Veruca Salt itself/themselves. I know a good deal about them, but can't recall any songs for sure.

Yeah, my understanding is that they had quite a falling out.

One Night in Bangkok.

Nirvana may be the best example of visceral, rock catharsis that has ever reached mass audiences. They are not the best-selling, or most technically proficient, or most prolific, or honestly even the most groundbreaking - and I definitely think that Pearl Jam has had more direct, listenable influence on rock music

For what McCready does (which is a lot of those bluesy scales frequently it seems), I think he does it really well, with a sort of unhinged purity that reaches me. I did find the "Against the Waves" solo maybe a little embarrassing, though.

This review makes this film sound much more watchable than the preview/trailer that I have seen twice.

I still haven't watched the Paltrow version or all of the Gillian Anderson version that I have had on my DVR for most of two years. And I even like Dickens!

I do not think that Casino Night is one of the best Office episodes personally, but it does have some great moments. I like Angela's post-slapping-Dwight smile and Jim and Jan's brief conversation in the parking lot the most.

That ever-so-slight flicker of a smile from Angela as she walks away is my favorite thing about this episode.

She narrowly avoided certain Deth.

I think that the 80s/90s point makes a lot of sense. The Bangles started out playing more folksy/jangly type music before they got into all of those uber-polished songs. I wish that they had lasted into the 90s and released an unplugged album.

I love "Eternal Flame" and I'm not sorry about that.

The women's suit that Michael wore that one day. Good fit, from the looks of it.

Maybe that single sheet that they took with them to the job fair at the high school. I think that Michael threw it at a kid? That would be a distinguished piece of paper.

I would love to have such a dress, just to keep in a box and occasionally take out and hug.

Yeah, that would be in a similar genre to a misprinted or first-run movie poster…maybe that's a poor example, but basically something of a type that only briefly ever existed. Good collectible.

Isobell. I liked her, and her with Dwight.
