The Master praise and a Wowee Zowee avatar.

"A Serious Man" is literally my favorite movie of all time but it was 2009 friendo!

Or, it really doesn't and it's actually one of the most beautiful movies ever!

Why do you care so much about story though?

Well this is the dumbest interpretation I've seen yet of a movie nobody seemed to understand, kudos.

If any movie begs to be rewatched in order to be stripped of the search for a "hook" or narrative, its The Master.

Or, they really have the BEST taste.

I think a big issue for a lot of people is they watch it the first time expecting it to be about Scientology, or at least have a narrative driven by The Cause.

In the reality I live in which nobody I know enjoys The Master, this does my soul good.

Tree of Life is like Boyhood if someone actually tried to capture the feeling of childhood instead of recreate it. But then theres also a bunch of existential pretensions that bog it down for me towards the end.

I'm being tongue in cheek. Still, it was a dumb random white-savior plot that I just thought was bizarre, but I know others found it insensitive

No he wasnt

Season 4 > Season 3 fuck the haters

I'm not saying they don't, it just felt like it was another box on a long list of after school special characters.

Hey, I'm in my mid twenties. I don't remember being young being so… one-note. Linklater is just such an uninteresting visual director.

Uh, I don't know what in that comment made you think I'm anything but super liberal or not making ironic use of "feminazis". I was just insinuating that Rolling Stone knows their audience is full of liberal yuppies (I mean they crudely pander to them issue after issue), and as such they thought they could feed this

Nothing has come close to The Master for me this decade. Just such an affecting experience that somehow gets richer and more simple every time I watch it.

I'll just say it man: Boyhood fucking sucks. None of it feels like childhood, its like a WB drama version of childhood made into a montage.

Everythings a thinkpiece now, no matter how irresponsible that is
