I'll echo "Summertime in England" by Van (along with "Madame George"), and "Telegraph Road" by Dire Straits. "Fool's Gold" from the Stone Roses is awesome when running in a 5K.

I want him to have his Jame Gumb talk show, too.

I like to think that "Ping" was recommended by Liz when she worked at the bookstore. They're relationship started with her telling Louie what to get his oldest daughter. Poignant, but so much of this show can be described with that word.

FF culminates with Connery, as the Great White Writer, making a dramatic comeback at his old school. He gives a speech *that we don't even hear,* drowned out by the sentimental score. Then, the big reveal is that they are the words of the young prodigy. Again, we don't hear them. Some prodigy. FF is a bad movie,…

I felt a compulsion to go through this entire thread, and write the same reply that I made to beema's original post. I mean, if he can keep repeating himself, so can I, right? Instead, I've decided instead to go shout in the wind instead.

Casting David Lynch is a nod to those in-the-know (i.e., those who recognize his face). No one brings such an instant "you're in a surreal place now" vibe quicker than him. Which perfectly matches the mental state that Louie finds himself in. Not sure if just "any hard-boiled older actor" can do that.

Oops. It goes by either title. Sorry about that pedantry.
It's "The Bicycle Thief". Only one thief in the movie (at least of a bicycle).
To each their own. However, I find "This Must Be the Place" to be a very affecting song, and hardly the result of accumulated random phrases.

In the scene, the Jag actually started.
