That book was a gem. I recommended it to anyone who'd listen.

I didn't like the berserker fight scenes. They were more of the same boring choreography they always are, where they weren't cut completely for that fugue state flashback gimmick that I've seen a dozen times before. If Ward and May are really berserk they should just be savagely beating the shit out of these guys…
Just going off of history, I'd feel more comfortable about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s prospects if non-Whedon diehards also felt the need to talk about the show. You're right though that there have been changes to the site that might affect the makeup of the commentariat.
I didn't get 'robot voice' at all. The sound people added a little reverb to emphasize it as he woke up gasping. That's an almost cliched sound person thing to do. It didn't seem in any other way robotic or abnormal.
I think I could handle that actually. They'd be like Duchess in Ostrander's old Suicide Squad comics. That could really work.
On watching this episode again, I saw a couple things I liked:
Writing interesting stories is definitely easier said than done, I completely agree. However, if they have it in them to write something more interesting, then they really honestly can wrap up any or all of those storylines in a couple of hours. They are absolutely not obligated to keep throwing screen time down a…
For a little while, anyway.
I wish you guys would stop being so mean to Thud Manwedge. At least he's not as bad as this "Brett Dalton" guy, whoever he is.
Dirtbike jumping the Giant's Causeway would be sweet.
You can blow your wad in the first half of the season if you just get more wad afterwards. Are the writers so utterly wadless that they have to wad-hoard? It's the Marvel Universe. Just pick any of a dozen hooks and use it to write a new subplot later.
Darn it. Now I want to see a Marvel rom-com, but one with no superheroes, like Night Nurse or Millie the Model.
It was suggested that he move to Portland (where Coulson's cello-playing ex went for a job, IIRC).
At the rate they're going, it's more like 10 seasons of character development.
I thought it was fun. Tom Hiddleston is really good and I like the way they blend the fantasy and sci-fi elements. Anthony Hopkins phones it in in the worst way, which is a shame since he's given some important stuff to do.
When you downvote Kids In The Hall, you downvote America. And, to an even greater extent, Canada. And that just makes you a bully.
That said, just going by the comment section the last few weeks, I have a feeling that the shrinking group of people who are sticking it out with S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to be made up of a greater and greater percentage of Whedon diehards.
For one beautiful, giddy moment, I thought I was seeing the introduction of the MCU Wrecking Crew reimagined as a Scandinavian doom metal band. Then I remembered I was watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Has she made her 616 debut yet?
It did have an impressive Hasselhoff Rating.
