Comparing Deadwood to Game of Thrones is a pretty unfair contest. GoT has bajillions of dollars, sometimes great writing, lots of great performances, and massive popularity.

Here's hoping A.W. Merrick died on his way back to his home planet. Jeffrey Jones is a great actor…but he's also fucking Jeffrey Jones.

LoL the first time I saw the show I actually thought he was somehow playing the same character, and couldn't reconcile the fact that the inbred moron who killed Wild Bill had suddenly become some kind of erudite serial killer. Awesome actor regardless.
