She and Jason Mantzoukas do a show together at UCB in LA every once in a while where they just improvise one long scene for over an hour.  Saw it a few weeks ago and it was maybe the best improv show I've ever seen.

This is my first year working for a big public school district in California and they changed the MR eligibility to ID (intellectual disability) within the past month.  I was shocked when I started working here that people still said MR, I heard it as ID all through grad school (in Washington).

in US public schools "specific learning disability" and "intellectual disability" are separate eligibilities (ID is the one that used to be "mentally retarded").

I saw this last night at a screening hosted by RZA - first he introduced and played "The 36 Chambers of Shaolin" (which was awesome), then did the best Q&A I've ever heard and then played his movie.  I thought "Man With the Iron Fists" was definitely entertaining and pretty cool in terms of mixing styles/genres, but I

Las night I saw the RZA presenting "The 36 Chambers of Shaolin" and his new movie, plus a Q&A, and his speech could be described very similarly.  Also he said that he still sees Bill Murray sometimes but GZA hangs out with him more, and that Bill Murray can smoke them both under the table.

I also didn't notice they were "lady-boys" utnil the credits.  This is old now but can we talk about the performance art piece in the middle where the guy puts clay all over his face repeatedly?  And it was bookended by the creepiest/funniest human robots?  I loved those couple minutes because my mind was just reeling.

I think familiarity with the studio albums helps you appreciate some of the mashups (kind of like knowing the Beatles' catalog makes "Love" even better/more interesting to listen to) but I agree, it's just an album-length dance party.  Great for running/going to the gym - huge bass and screaming audience get you

I agree.  I get really emotionally caught up in crowd things where everyone is totally on board, and there are moments on Daft Punk's "Alive" that make me almost cry because you can hear the crowd just go fucking nuts when a mashup or something new happens.  In my experience it's rare to go to a show with an awesome
