You know, this exact point has been bothering me ever since I saw the episode — I was even surprised that Piper got so mad at Larry. I think I just now got why Claudette and Suzanne got so angry at Piper:

I was going to make a point elsewhere about how Card hasn't written anything good since 2000 and thus can't be defended because he's making art, but then I looked it up and realized his son died that year, and I felt too bad to continue. 

I mean, seriously, Card's a science fiction writer. That's *genre fiction*. He's seriously got no leg to stand on in the "not working for a living" stakes.

I thought so too! It was the sweetest relationship Ender had in Battle School. I definitely would read fanfic about them. Especially if it were written by @avclub-c1fe85b855c6d045b827f74a1e2c3fd7:disqus .

I took it as, she was too intimidating for boys to want to be friends with her, or more. It's not that she isn't pretty, it's that she doesn't fit into the prescribed role for girls/females — and the first guy who made her feel like she belonged was a petty criminal who got her caught.

My husband consciously started growing a beard because he was inspired by Riker's. It totally works. 

I thought the same thing about Lauren Lapkus and Kristen Schaal. I think it's their eyes — I could see them playing sisters easily.

No…still pathetic, even if there's only one.
