After Hours was about the only thing I've seen Griffin Dunne in, that I could remember. But there was something fascinating about an '80s "screwball" romantic comedy with the names Madonna and Griffin Dunne above the title. That and its legendary suckitude.

Saw Griffin Dunne in a season 4 episode of Damages, which led me to watch the first 15 minutes of Who's That Girl on youtube. It was not nearly as terrible as I was expecting it to be, but there were better things to watch … like Halloween II on youtube. Had never seen it before, despite the original having a grip on

I sort of watched Halloween: Resurrection, or rather the opening kills, then skipping the plot crap in the middle to get to the mayhem in the last half hour. (It’s only 83 minutes, with credits.) I always thought it was Polly Pissy Pants, which I still prefer.

Dawes No Other Way

'Sing' is probably the stand-out track, which also happens to be the most shoegazey. The rest is somewhere between baggy and Britpop. Tis a good little album, though they won't show that they were a band to be truly reckoned with until the second one, Modern Life Is Rubbish.

It's got to be better than LaPaglia's 'Manchester cockney' accent in Frasier.

Premise:
Ian and Iain Luck (Dustin Hoffmann and Nick Nolte) are brothers. Ian is a compulsive gambler who always wins whenever he bets, but is unlucky in love. Iain is a voyeur who never gambles but is always successful romantically. They live above and manage a Chinese restaurant.

I saw a test screening of On The Edge when the working title was The Smiling Suicide Club. The film really worked — as fresh and exciting a film as Murphy was in the lead — but the other tossers in that screening obviously didn't think so, which is why the rest of the world got the compromised version.

Yeah, I wouldn't hold up They Live is the one movie to defend John Carpenter. If you don't like The Thing, chances are you won't like the other films from peak period.

nothing - my in-laws were visiting, so I went to bed really early.
Finally got round to V For Vendetta though (not the film version).
