I think it's just a really bizarre oversight on the part of the production team. Like, really bizarre, given how many times they said that all the girls had the same eye colour as Abigail. I actually find them fucking up such a small yet significant detail ever so slightly worrisome.

This is one of the main things I enjoy about this and any other show - the trust in the viewers' intelligence and our pre-existing knowledge of other procedurals. As Molly mentioned in her review, we don't get to see how the pharmacist is found because that is not the focus of the series, but also because we already

I am so glad this series remains good, or even great, as I'm getting a bit obsessed. I watched the pilot 5 times over the last week, probably would have a few more times if I hadn't convinced myself that that would decrease the joy of an inevitable end-of-the-season rewatch marathon. Just something about the show

And according to what I've heard from a surprisingly large number of Internet denizens who have already seen upcoming episodes, it continues being good. So, yay.

According to a BBC announcement from last year, the writers are James Wood and Rupert Walters, who worked on Rev. ans Spooks respectively.

Such a fantastic coat. Immediately after the show I started looking for similar ones online, but realized that due to the great inconvenince of having boobs, I wasn't going to find one that would fit me. Boobs have so many great qualities, but  compliance with sharp tailoring is not one of them.

Yeah, this series has never been very detail-oriented or concerned with historical accuracy, but inappropriate horses notwithstanding, they usually get the general atmosphere right.

I agree with you regarding the punks. I realise TVD is on the CW and the production designers have to consider budget and the possibility that a more realistic punk aesthetic might seem incongruous in relation to the series'/network's hyper-polished, slightly generic look, but, man, those club scenes were sad. For me

Entirely off topic, but what  Hangover thread are everyone talking about? I feel like there's some sort of AVClub inner circle I've accidentally stumbles upon and i'm becoming mighty curious.

It gets A LOT better as it goes on. They pretty much abandon the whole cougar part of the premise and it just becomes a great-to-occasionally-fantastic hang-out show. I'd actually suggest skipping a few early season 1 episodes.

Regarding Black Mirror. I've watched the whole first series (an impressive feat, considering it 3 45-minute episodes) and the first episode of series 2 and I'd recommend it. All the episdoes tell a stand-alone story and some are better than others, though none are even remotely terrible.
It can get a litlle ham-fisted

Dude just has a weird face.

No.
Comparing this show to Better Off Ted favourably is fuck-your-grandmother wrong.

I thought the implication was that Sherlock had simply held on to their previous correspondence and left the letters at the rehab clinic due to closure or such.
Though I am still mighty confused about the actual existence of the letters. Someone as inherently innovative as Holmes would surely use electronic means of

I lay no blame at your feet, but if i hear/read/telepathically sense someone begin to utter the phrase heightened emotions I will get smashy. Really, can't the writers think of more phrases to describe that certain aspect of vampirism.

I like to think that was a joint plan by the costumers and writers to pacify Cary fans. It is none the less a poor substitute for an actual storyarc, but I'll take it.

A wonderful beat in this episode, when Dexter and Isaac's phone call ends, Dexter just sort of awkwardly steps out of the unmoving frame. Really struck me for some reason.
