Now I'm watching all these Youtube videos of Waylon Jennings and found one of him singing "Peggy Sue." It sounds fantastic!

I'm going to do one of those "make it all about me" things
I listened to all the country greats growing up, not by choice, but because that was what my parents played. All those songs are deeply ingrained. As soon as I saw his name in the title of the article, I could hear Waylon Jennings' voice in my head. I deeply

I think he was just being nice (but not trying-to-nail-her nice).

I love Season 3.
My biggest association with the episode title "Paper Clip" was the rampant speculation on the message boards concerning Mulder and Scully's elevator ride after he returns. I don't if that was fueled by the rumors of the season 1 bloopers or not.

"Milagro" was a fannish declaration of love and devotion to the character of Scully. Mulder may have been right a lot of the time, but he still was treated as a fumbling buffoon. The writers, or at least Chris Carter, preferred Scully as well.

Lost in Translation
I watched Lost in Translation when I was trying to figure out what the heck I was doing post-degree. I was in a situation that looked good overall, but I was just floundering. Everything was gray and communication was fuzzy.

"I stand right on the line you keep crossing."
I remember the first run of "F. Emasculata" and thinking it was really scary and gross. The bursting pustules and the pig's leg (or whatever) in the Fed Ex box are lasting images from the series.

It's not a funhouse, it's a tabernacle of terror.
1. "Dod Kalm" - There was an extraterrestrial explanation for the aging on the ship, IIRC, that isn't mentioned above. A Norwegian mythological tale is told about a ball of flame falling from the sky. Later Scully hypothesizes about a source of electromagnetic

Check out the 8 episodes that Chris Carter chose for the compilation DVD that came out right before the second movie. It's a good mix of episodes that gives an overview of the series (minus the mythology episodes):
Pilot (season 1), Beyond the Sea (season 1), The Host (season 2), Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose (season

There would be something terribly wrong if I had semen the consistency of anything.

Cinnamon bun icing
I keep trying to figure out what the props dept. used to simulate "genetic material."

Tea baggers - LOL!
This doesn't really fit in with the rest of the "Nashville or Bust" series. This mostly covers this guy's last album and feels like an excuse for a lot of political cheap shots. Ray Stevens definitely isn't in the same legend stratosphere of the rest of the acts covered here.

Which video games in particular? What platforms? I never got into them, but I think I'd like to check them out now.

Merkin too small
Another vote for Bobbi St. Brown on shrooms. "Sun eggs" and her green merkin story are hilarious.

I remember hearing about her role on the show. I never read her book, but I should browse it. A cool, cool job. I remember as a teen reading science magazines and the some of those topics would be on the show. I remember Tunguska being on the cover of Discover or something and it being on the show very shortly after.

phodreaw - Also, the way Scully speaks about the analyses is just slightly off, in the same vain as the example from above, "modem the evidence," sounds a little off to the ears. But, on the whole, the (forensic) science seems sound and I geek out hearing about Western blots and Hox genes on a tv show.

Dana Scully
As I started an episode of X-Files episode on Netflix Watch Instantly, I pulled up AVC and was thrilled to see The X-Files recaps on TV Club! I have been marathoning the series on Netflix for a few weeks now (after not seeing an episode in years) and my nostalgia is back in full force.

Maybe if you read my comments, you will begin to understand them.

My hate-like opinion has nothing to do with the hype or Pitchfork, but the music itself. The music is grating and unmodulated with some of the most annoying sounds possible and then there is the extremely catchy beat and sweetly sung vocals. I rage a little when the song comes on and move to change the channel, but

Ambivalent
I hate their music, but like it at the same time. I don't think I've ever hate-liked something as much as "Crown on the Ground."
