I agree, they are great. Especially Winehouse. She is so fucking talented, its sickening to see her this way. I really hope she cleans up her act at some point and makes more music.

Nice Job!
Great write up Marah! Loved Pete and Pete, where can you watch them, Netflix?
This got lost in the archives of the AV Club I guess.
Jem is the tits though.
But not as good as Barbie and the Rockers, IMO.
A boy will corner a girl and try to get her to kiss him. If she refuses, he grabs her and forces her to, sometimes i guess it gets violent. In this particular episode, he had her pinned against a wall and she couldnt get away. It was really uncomfortable and difficult to watch.
Oh, and her friend left her there saying…
Thats right, it happened then too. I guess the main running theme of The Office, especially the BBC version, is that the people in charge have no idea what they are doing, and are basically clowns, but they are, alas, in charge.
I thought this was a sly commentary by the writers that the person with the most authority (Jo) will come in and make the absolutely worst decision as to who should be put in charge, and breeze out, and then leave everyone else to deal with the consequences. She is the owner but has absolutely no idea how to manage…
*really
My understanding was she was more upset/scared about what happened than she was trying to let on to her husband, but thats just my thought..I reall didnt get the whole drug-addict thing out of it.
LaDonna
Whats with the look LaDonna gives at the end? What is the meaning there?
(PS thought this episode was atleast an A-)
I thought he was supposed to just be drugged up or concussed at the end, not permenatly mentally-disabled?
I too consider the "drive the car into the lake" the Office's "jump the shark" moment. It turned a corner at that moment for me, although the show has been declining since season 3. Season 2 was really the only excellent season of this show.
With lots of stuff in it.
That cover will haunt my nightmares.
But hey, guess what, I think you guys are pretty awesome too!
The Pitch
"The Pitch" sounds pretty awesome…
You took the time to write that out? Maybe you should get a TV, it will help fill your free time.
Heres the thing with Goop Paltrow-
She has become one of those attention seeking celebritards who have no real talent beyond being a "celebrity" and so they have to come up with ways to keep themselves relevant. Her smugness and bragging are old and tired, and I personally am sick of her popping up everywhere, runing…
We didnt build people up, just to knock them down too, like we do now. Which is part of why the studio protected their stars. They were window dressing, they were fantasy. And they protected the fantasy. Now its just a bunch of slobs selling themselves for an extra 15 minutes of fame.
I agree, great article!!
Also…
"Movie Stars" now just seem so boring and they try too hard.
Back in the day, no one knew where these people did the grocery shopping, what their kids looked like, and what kind of car they drove. It made it easier to watch someone pretend to be someone else, (act) when you didnt know how they lived thier…
