Woody Allen is in GLOW? Man, they really buried the lede there.

I thought the ending is where it ran aground. It was just so insistent on needlessly tying up every loose end that it totally lost the pace.

I am. I'm pulling up sticks in only a month. My ulpan is worked out, got my visa, Clalit enrollment, plane ticket, and a cousin over there who's the same age and also in the film industry.

Dude's been in everything. The Tao of Steve, Grounded for Life, Life, Terriers, Gotham, Vikings, Zodiac, American Splendor for a split second.

Spoiler alert!

That's a dealmaker!

That movie was so much better than I remembered. I just wish they had had the confidence to end each scene on the actual punchline rather than retreat into some stupid bodily humor.

I'm well fucking aware. Well. Fucking. Aware. But context is important, and he isn't saying that Jewish people being successful is wrong. You might as well get angry at Malcolm Gladwell for making similar points in Outliers.

He's not inveighing against Jews or voicing resentment. He's not begrudging or complaining. He's pointing to a community that places literally sacred value on education and self-improvement as an example to be followed, rather than a boogeyman.
