The district he's running in is full of college students, Navy, and old aristocratic Californios. No chance.
The only way he could win is by running in a solidly Republican district. He's running in a Democrat-leaning swing district.
California still has a bunch of Republican seats, and the state is still the engine of movement conservatism. Our Republicans are fucking hardcore, to the point that East Coasters are freaked out by them.
