At present, it's conservative activists cynically exploiting a small handful of liberals' sensibilities about language in general.

And those 300 people thinking they represent everyone to the left of Gary Johnson.

The crucial difference between horribly and wonderfully dated:

They can't all be JAG. One of them must be The Unit!

They remade Damnation Alley!?

Sorry, Mexico has us beat there now.

Being boring is also boring, but they made it work for them!

Turn your dough into generic bulk and you could be the next Sam Worthington/Jai Courtney!

"You fight like a woman!"

"I was going to comment, but realized that the satisfaction of having a say was not worth the avalanche of notifications."

The '70s were more clever IMO with their anti-heroes. In most cases there was an implication that they weren't necessarily helping the situation, either because they weren't without guilt or because their efforts were in vain. You know in the Austin Powers article, how the author expresses his reflexive disdain at the way a damn good movie has been imitated to death by hacks? That's how I feel about Black Hawk Down.

You make an interesting point, but I don't think it's such a big deal.

Dear God, The Wall.

Mike Myers recycles most of his jokes. Even this movie had some stuff that was from his SNL work.

"Ow! That really hurt! Now I'm going to have a lump there, you idiot!"
