Ya know, there are so many great, TRUE stories of slavery and the escapes from it that would make wonderful movies - fiction is so…fictional.
@avclub-808e22af6c33eea22608f30cef458844:disqus As far as political activism goes, NOM is on par with the KKK - I grew up in Louisiana in the '60s and have KKK members in my family, so I'm not just Godwinning here.
If they can't take it, they shouldn't dish it out.
I liked her all right until I heard her perform at Music Midtown (Atlanta) sometime in the late '90s and she dedicated a song she had written to a friend who had 'been ritually Satanically abused.' And I went OoooooooKaaaaaaay.
Yeah, I have vague memories of watching it at my grandparents' house, and they were not just conservative - they were reactionary.

You should watch the original 'live action' version starring Sabu.
Shouldn't death and violence disturb people?
I did read Ender's Shadow, but it just freaking annoyed me. It didn't cast any further light than Ender's Game did, and it kept him from finishing the Alvin Maker series, which I was still eagerly awaiting then.
The truly sad thing is - what I get from his rants (and I've actually read a few of them) is this -
Haven't read Songmaster, have you?
It's not that Card's a homophobe, per se, it's that he has spent years and years and lots of money writing and campaigning against gay rights. He's on the board of NOM, for crying out loud.
