Boggles my mind that people come to this feature every week to vehemently complain about the author's choices. The whole thing is obviously just a way to aggregate the most absurd pieces of pop culture detritus. Their placement on the scale is probably completely arbitrary. I like this feature because I've typically

Vescio's Italian Restaurant still exists in Dinkytown but I have not yet dared to dine there.

I guess I'm not convinced this song/video are not some sort of lampoon. I can't imagine anyone doing another "song about California" with a straight face, and I felt like the ridiculous nasal autotune voice underscored this.

This band is like Social Distortion's grandchild or something and I hope they keep going for a long time.

For anyone looking for something more typical of his pre-03/04 work, he's supposedly already got an album with Duke Garwood recorded and ready for release this year.

I've had plenty of people dig his solo albums more than his full band albums. Also, I definitely thought Screaming Trees were a nondescript generic rock by numbers band until I heard Bubblegum and got an appreciation for stuff like Uncle Anesthesia/Dust.

Anyone already under Lanegan's spell is going to find this satisfying. It sounds a lot like what he's done with Dulli over the past few years.

Marty's "This is worse than the time you sucker-punched Mr. Rogers!" line from the fourth clip would make a great Family Guy-style cutaway gag and this show's writing staff just let it slip right by them. Thank god Seth MacFarlane learned from mistakes like these.

If there's one thing that I've gleaned from listening to WTF, it's that an hour of solid standup takes a lot of fucking work. That this is basically his second release this year and that he holds himself to a one hour per year goal is impressive.

Seconded re: "Mr. Superlove," I would also put the cover of "Nighttime" by Big Star in my top 10 Whigs tunes.
