I think Michelle Gondry could make a really cool Mario movie.
I'd love to see someone competent do a slow-horror take on Metroid.

Internal consistency and a overreaching sense of tone =/= realism

I'm one of those people who gets excited to hear the new stuff.

Fox Confessor Brings the Flood is a damn fine title IMO

I loved some of his posts more than I hated others.

I clicked for the same reason. I used to feel like this was the best place to read insightful comments about film and I admit I AM a bit nostalgic for it…. though I mostly lurked.

tyler IS a good song

I hope you don't mean to imply MY comment is an example of this… cuz I'm a D&D nerd and would very much enjoy the books, I'm just choosing to watch it with my friends first…
So, if you got the impression that I somehow am distancing myself from the high fantasy (Is GoT high fantasy? It feels like… medium fantasy?) I

he does!

I see WAY more people complaining about this than I see people actually doing it. Which makes me think a few scattered comments by strangers on the internet really bother people.

People have been waiting 3 years to see their friend's faces.

I had friends who knew something insane was coming and they still lost their shit.

The fucking kicker is that the source material was something that could not only be easily adapted with a budget, but could have been pretty fucking cool and interesting.

Sooo… you agree?

Jesus! I'm glad someone else thought High Violet was a depressingly over-mastered audio catastrophe? Could it be true? I was so sad when I heard how flat they made The Narional sound… that was like… dynamics were the whole strength of Boxer IMO.

WEEKS AND WEEKS never said that he wasn't talented, just said he ruined harmonica for a generation. Typically, one has to be pretty fucking good to do that. See: Eddie Van Halen or Ywnvigieshj;laksfh Malmsteen for lead guitar.

I used to be the "straight" friend in our group. I eventually drifted away. Later, you'd hear about old high school friends who are now into guzzling cough syrup and then later it was meth. Missouri is a hell of a state to be a bored teen in.

It usually sounds like a shampoo commercial

I've said similar for a long time. People scoff at huge mega-movies as soulless, voiceless throw-away bullshit, but those same people seemingly prefer THAT garbage over the garbage created by a dude who clearly has some sort of unique identifiable voice and vision.

I could see someone like Drafthouse Films partnering on such an endeavor.
