I'm curious to know how the PBS version compares to the UK version. Is one better than the other? And which version did critics who received screeners review? Can I trust their reviews if they only saw one version but not the other? If I ever get around to watching this show I'd like to know which one is preferred.
Who Hasn't Licked An Asshole?
Marah, I applaud you for not going the lazy "these people are ruining America!" route. Jersey Shore is fun, hilarious, lighthearted entertainment. If people really want to see the dregs of American society, tune in for a season of The Bad Girls Club. I dare you.
"He sang John Groban like Josh Groban"
Is this a typo, or are John Groban and Josh Groban two different people? Is John Groban secretly Josh's double from a Fringe-like alternate dimension?
Mmm, Gratuitous Stefan Shirtlessness…
I'm curious to see what will happen with Matt. I'm sure the writers have something planned for him, as last season I thought Caroline was the most useless waste of space on television, and now she's one of the best characters on the show.
I agree, this is one of my favorite episodes of the season.
rehabber, I think you need to get out more and actually HAVE an orgy. They're nothing to hate, and in fact are quite fabulous.
Yes, because if there's one show that everyone in America watches it's Southland.
I 100% Agree
Now Carrie, can you please come defend me from the people who scoff when I try to recommend this show? "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" had a pretty ridiculous name, too, and people got over that!
Gregg Araki Is Asian?
This is blowing my mind right now.
hollyhox, I should add that it takes 5-10 episodes before it gets really good. I gave up on it a few episodes into season 1, then returned later to discover it had become the TV equivalent of crack.
Not To Sound Racist, But…
Shouldn't the people who got all up in arms about Shyamalan casting white people in The Last Airbender be protesting the SHIT out of this? Annie is being blackwashed for the masses!
I think True Blood is fantastic, but then I'm a gay man with a built-in love for campy melodrama and naked men.
I Got Wood For Ya
The Vampire Diaries is actually a really good show (as the world will come to learn when The AV Club starts recapping it), and it doesn't deserve such a cheesy marketing campaign. Though I do, admittedly, have wood.
Important Question
Does Joan now move like Puppet Yoda or CGI Yoda?
He may just have a weakness for lesbian cheerleaders, which is understandable.
Disappointing
The worst part of this episode was, once again, the acting. I didn't feel that Sofia Black D'Elia had the chops to pull off Tea, and of course all her interactions with Tony were terrible since James Newman has all the charisma of a wet rag. The one scene that really worked was the grandma's monologue at…
1) You need to get out more, and 2) Secretariat, what the fuck?
Patty Hearst, Much?
Rowan, I think you have a bit of Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to both The Cape and No Ordinary Family. Not that I blame you, as you have to cope with recapping both of them somehow. But please tell me you realize they're not actually good television. PLEASE.
I assume you mean the final episode of season 1, where I didn't even realize I was missing a HUGE sequence because they didn't want to secure the music rights for the US DVD. That still pisses me off.
