Don't even know their names you say? Well if you ask anyone other than Margaret, they'll tell you the "virgin" is Will. But Margaret will say his name is McKenzie ;)

I saw this movie at TIFF, at Midnight Madness with the filmmakers. So the best possible environment you'd probably think of. Still, it felt like it could just never quite get to what it was aspiring for. I've never read the book, but the film kept almost being something special.

When you correct your friends on the fact that Frankenstein isn't the monster, does the fall under the umbrella/jurisdiction of the Grammar Police?

My favorite parts were Neil's dad doing the suck-it movie in slow-mo and Neil saying "the mannequin of our librarian." I love how sure he is of everything he says. Dumb with conviction.

Nice thought about John, I think it's still in-character that they wouldn't mention him, I really liked John. In all his phases, mostly because that actor was so damn good.

I think maybe a few seasons ago I could see what you're saying about the "brothers' tired conflict over Elena" but like Carrie said in her reviews for last season, I think finally both brothers have a really strong reason for it. The real that Damon met Elena first, and now that the compelling of that is gone after…

@LarryBraverman I think ever since Lost I've tried to avoid the bottom part of the screen (or wherever opening cast credits are displayed) to avoid spoilers. I can't remember any specifics right now but it really ruined the jolt of some Lost episodes.

I have to say, I think it's good on the writers that every witch/warlock is black. Obviously they're talking about racism there, the witch trials back in the day, etc. So I was a bit surprised when Esther, being white, turned out to be the Original witch.
