Couple thing:
1) For reality competition shows centered around a lot of design/constructing, the 1.5 hour format has worked out great I think. I say that because Face Off on SyFy is now apparently doing it, and the pacing was very nice.

I just realized this, I think the only manic pixie dream girl I could spend time with without wanting to kill myself is Maggie Gyllenhaal from Stranger Than Fiction.

I mostly love this show, I really do. Having said that, I just wanted to put up 2 things:
1) I hate when a writer will forgo a character's consistency or any realism just to get in a good joke. NO ONE is so stupid that they would think they bought a car with the word "SLUT" on it, not even Jenna's mom.

I know I'm late, but just wanted to say when Francis Lam snapped, I wanted him to do the Ben Wyatt/Adam Scott "heyyy" that he did when Ron gave him a real drink.
