I'm glad Bay's still signing too. It's an integral part of her being, at this point.
I didn't particularly like the fingerprint piece, but I was thinking she could finger paint with her left hand. Maybe slap some canvases with paint and get some frustration out.

I'm hoping that it's a scare too, and that what it'll do is provide some new subplots for Bay in the meantime while she's trying to figure things out. Maybe she'll take a dance class with Kathryn as a creative outlet and the two of them will have a chance to spend more time together.

Yeah, I feel like the writers wanted to set it up as a redemption story, so that the doctor will change his mind about Daphne. I'm not sure if not letting him asphyxiate is enough to make him feel warm and fuzzy towards her.

I think that's what he'd normally do, but their relationship has been so strained lately that they're afraid to talk to each other.

In my opinion, part of the reason the reveal of the secrets felt strange was because there was no discussion. Nobody let anyone else explain him/herself. The fallout from the secrets was driven by pure anger or frustration, which isn't as typical for these characters. Usually, even when angry, they give each other a

I officially deem this an appropriate use of time.

I've considered the idea of Bay becoming an interpreter and I do think it's an interesting option for her. I think I'd like to see her choose painting as a career, because it'd be nice to see her passion for art pay off, especially given that Regina has the talent and didn't pursue it.

Noooo, don't say it—don't even think it! Now I'm anxious that it's going to happen, because it parallels Regina's experience with cutting hair and signing. :(

Agreed! Bay gets the best lines, probably b/c she's the deadpan snarker…

I agree, but interestingly enough, that description could apply to some of Angelo's behavior of late…

Actually, they're going to turn 17. If they were turning 18 in October, they'd be in their freshman year of college.

Seriously. The whole time Jorge was on screen, I was doing some mental math. He has to be at least 21 or 22.
Carrie—I think Jorge bothers me more, on some level, because he knows she's in high school. Chef Jeff thought she was in college when he developed an attraction to her.
Mytly—I could see the meta commentary

I think the school has a hearing principal for logistical reasons. Some of the kids have hearing parents who don't sign, and the principal needs to be able to communicate with both students and parents.

John has no self-awareness, as evidenced by his inability to understand why Daphne didn't ask him to coach the field hockey team. If he doesn't start to sort out his own emotions, he's not going to be able to connect completely with others (especially Kathryn). He can be absolutely infuriating sometimes, but it's

I really want to know who/what the other nominees in that category would be.

I know Ty is immature, but WOW. Does he not know how Bay's relationship with Emmett ended? I have to assume she mentioned it; to then make Bay think he cheated on her, knowing that, is just brutal. That's going to inflict some serious psychological damage, particularly when you consider that she just lost her

Where do you stand on Yeti?

Somewhere, Horatio Alger is smiling…

I'm thinking, based on the promo, that when Bay goes to say goodbye, Ty won't be able to pretend to be sad, given his limited emotional range. Somehow he'll end up spilling the beans and Bay will be pissed.

I agree with everything you said about Bay and Ty. They dated very briefly and he didn't even give her the courtesy of letting her know about his deployment in a timely manner so that she could process it. He's the older one, but he seems less mature. Plus, the way he treated her in this episode was infuriating.
