I guess they're worried about having the companion visibly older than the Doctor.

They originally existed to be the audience avatars - i.e. constantly ask for translation of complicated techno-babble. Over time, though, they became three-dimensional characters in their own right with personal arcs &c and actually helped.

From what I understand (which is mainly from reading Mark Kermode's book) a film needs to roughly earn double its budget back to be considered a success.

Take that back, you cad

Well, actually yes according to Ms.Perry…

Nah, the 'Live Lounge' really only exists to get pop bands to do awkward cover versions

It's better to think he isn't, I think. As has been said before one of the major themes is how he has lost his humanity to the point where the replicants, well Roy in particular, are more 'human' than he is.

Well I liked it *pouts*

LIGHTSABER COCKSUCKING BLUES!!!!

Actually The Pogues are one of those bands that I love but I'm dunbious about seeing live due to Shane's inability to sing anymore (not a slight on his voice on record, but the fact having no teeth and being completely plastered does not make for a good performance…)

Isn't that Tyler, The Creator's band?

Does that word bother you?

Et me buddy

Technically Sleeping Beauty is around 116, although 100 of those years were in magical suspended animation…

The Butler?

@avclub-0f0d67e214f9fef69b278e3d08114da9:disqus The director was on Mark Kermode's show - and your first guess was exactly right - apparently focus groups etc proved that the ' - of Mars' would drive away those who hate sci-fi on principle.

Touché

La Jette is amazing - I never thought I'd be so engrossed by a film that is (almost) entirely made up of still images.

They were the headliners - the opening acts (like Dion) had to slum it on the buses
