It makes total sense. They have numerous deals with companies to air their shows in other countries. Allowing people in those regions to subscribe to HBO Now would violate those contracts.

So true. I like season two of SHIELD well enough, but it's hilarious that in 2015 broadcast networks are spinning off shows that get a damn 1.5 demo in the overnight ratings.
