Agreed and if anything you're understating the disparity between the two. The Walking Dead could only dream of ever making anything as good as the better parts of the first five seasons of 24.

Agreed.  The universal praise it's been getting from most critics online is baffling.  It's not outright terrible or anything, but I can't say I really look forward to it that much.

Do any of you really think that good critical reviews can convince a significant number of people to watch a show?

I'm disappointed, but given the ratings I can't say I'm surprised.

Yeah, I don't understand how someone could call that romantic.  I feel like critics are watching a totally different show than I am.

Surely there's something between gritty and the saccharine garbage this show has been pumping out for the last two years.

I never liked Community at all, though I've only seen a half dozen or so episodes.  Parks and Rec was great in seasons 2&3 but these last two years have just not been good at all.

Agreed.  I love this show.

This show should have ended after the third season.  It's now a sad shell of what it was at its best.

The only problem with McGee's Fringe reviews is that he was way too kind to it.  The fourth and fifth seasons were disasters, so bad that I wish the show had been canceled after season three. 

Agreed.  Giving this a B is ridiculous. At least NBC showed some rare sanity by not making this crap into a series.

HBO half hours always do terribly when they don't have a drama as a lead in.

Oh god, "hear about but never actually hear about" is the perfect description of Girls.

You have the order reversed.  It's the complete overrating of Girls by critics that has lead to much of the harsh criticism of the show, not the other way around.

Yeah, television critics are a pretty deluded about the cultural importance of Girls.

Give me a break.  How is a B a harsh grade?  If anything it's too generous.  This show just isn't that good.

The ratings keep dropping, so FX is probably trying to build interest for the show.
