Fox tried pretty much everything to get people to watch Arrested Development and the audience simply wasn't there.

It's probably getting renewed. The New Year's scheduling is just because NBC needs it done by the end of January, there are still four episodes left, and Tuesday January 29th will probably be the State of the Union address.

The Following probably already cancelled?  Are you fucking insane?  Fox has promoted it so heavily, and the rest of their shows are doing so poorly, that unless it is the biggest bomb in the history of bombs it's getting a second season.

Exactly.  I have no sympathy for creators who bring niche cable ideas to broadcast networks and then fail.

So true.  What an embarrassing show on just about every level.  Shockingly sexist, poorly plotted ("Hey guess what, someone in the office knows somebody intimately involved with crisis X so we'll get everything right once again with an absolute minimum of work/effort"), and so fucking smug.  Sorkin's scripts act like

If only that really were a typo, but sadly there will be 100 episodes of Anger Management.

Seeing it snubbed on all the end of year lists was to be expected, but it still pains me.

I feel like a lot of Girls' critical praise is basically anti-sexism that veers back into being sexist by wildly overpraising a mediocrity simply because of who made it and the subject matter.

Agreed. First season was decent, but season two was abysmal television.

I don't mind the Sunny snub, but Eastbound deserves to make the list for the funeral episode alone.
