I take it seriously so I guess I'm one of those "nerds are cool" bandwagoners. And I do believe the filmmakers are taking it seriously enough. They aren't just getting paid money to do so: they are pouring sweat and dedicating a year or two of their lives to these projects. (Even comedy filmmakers take their work

"However GotG2 is set six months after GotG1 so approximately 2014/2015. Current Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is taking place in 2017."

No but they do talk about the Infinity Stones and how great the heroes are. People talked a lot when SHIELD fell. They speculate about what's going to happen. Yes the universe has problems but a lot of people are invested in it for a reason. There's more to worldbuilding than the villains or how serious threats are.

I think the "sticky maple" was meant to be an insult and that's how the girls took it. That's how I took it too when watching it.

It's possible the scouting group he belongs to would look down on a kid firing a gun without any adult supervision for safety reasons regardless of survival skills. Then again they seemed to have put the kid in charge rather than an adult so what do I know?

No they don't look like this. Considering how they just pretended they were having all this sex, I'd say that's pretty realistic.

She'll pay for college by embracing her sadistic side and becoming a dominatrix.

Why would she need a cover for July 4th if she killed Jason a week later?

That would be one hell of a twist. Her mom an the whole town has just been playing along to Betty's weird imaginary sister. It was even included in the notebook the football players kept JUST in case Betty ever saw it.

So it would have been okay in your mind if the girls HAD slept with them and they weren't lying? Sure, men were lying about their experiences with women and that was part of the problem but that they then tried to stick the girls with a "badge" of honor? Wait that's bad word choice….my point is that they were slut

By serious I meant they weren't outright comedies like Lego Batman. They are still "dramas" and the world is taken seriously enough.

Only the Nolan films are treated like grand works of cinema. (Burton's films it depends on who you ask) ;)

If BvS was good, it would be fun. If BvS was fun, it would be good. For blockbuster movies, the quality is really determined by how fun it is. They are meant to be enjoyed after all so quality should is measured by that.

I think your letting your personal distaste of Marvel movies color that comment. People still genuinely like Marvel movies. It's not like they are guilty pleasures. Audiences have proven that they don't just want dark, grim stuff all the time is my point. They also want lighter movies that lets them have fun. And

Let's face it. The real problem with the DCEU is it's not fun. The Dark Knight had themes and went dark but it was an exhilarating thrill ride that the Dark Knight Rises tried to recapture (and was mostly successful but not completely). It's simply fun to experience. The DCEU movies on the other hand are dull, come

If you've seen Lego Batman, it screamed bats a lot.

I'm a big fan of every Marvel movie but I wouldn't call them deep or dark. They are fun adventures. Sure, they are serious but they are still fun and have jokes. I think saying that modern audiences want superhero movies to have serious messages, to be deep, or dark is kinda proven wrong by the unprecedented success

I've never found Ricky Gervais to be funny. I think he tricks people into thinking he's funny because he's smug.

I guess this article could be as right as the article that heralded that SNL's days of political importance is over when Trump hosted.

Totally relevant to the discussion.
